There's something painfully familiar in the idea of not having to worry about unexpected pregnancies, even though that wasn't her own experience. She just hadn't, for reasons neither of them could imagine, but there had always been that shrinking sliver of hope to cling to before her monthlies reappeared, like clockwork.
Nina hasn't mentioned any family Curses, and it's probably something completely different. But Greta's own struggles in that area have led her to assume it's a tender subject, and she's hesitant to press for details.
"Does Geralt know?" she asks. It seems like a safely indirect way of asking if this is a 'congratulations' sort of announcement or an 'oh dear' sort.
